Dr Marco McSweeney
Marco McSweeney is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Medicine at University College Dublin. He completed his PhD in Psychology at the University of Sheffield with a focus on the neurobiological correlates of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) and the interplay between neurodevelopment and motor, cognitive, and emotional regulation competencies. Since graduating, Marco has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Maryland for over 4-years, contributing to numerous NIH funded large-scale, multi-site longitudinal studies. Marco is working on the PROGRESS work package investigating response rates and predictors of response to the initial and subsequent trials of antipsychotic medications in first episode psychosis (FEP). He will also determine the prevalence and predictors of treatment resistance in FEP and response to clozapine.
