Dr Oisin Conaty wins the Royal Academy of Medicine Ireland (RAMI) Psychiatry HST research prize

Congratulations to Dr Oisín Conaty who won the Royal Academy of Medicine Ireland (RAMI) Psychiatry HST research prize for his presentation ‘Capillary blood sampling for point-of-care testing in clozapine monitoring. A mixed method study of validity and acceptability’. This research is part of Oisín’s MD, which is supervised by Prof John Lally and co-supervised by Prof Brian ODonoghue and overall, the work aims to reduce the barriers to the use of clozapine in people living with treatment resistant schizophrenia. Also congratulations to Dr Tara Burke, who was a runner up in the competition for her presentation entitled: ‘Olanzapine Dose in Women with First-Episode Psychosis: An age-based proxy for menopausal status’. Tara is supervised by Prof Brian O’Donoghue and co-supervised by Prof Anne Doherty. Both projects are part of the PROGRESS study that has been funded by the HRB and are done out of the UCD Centre for Psychosis Research.
