Invited Guest Lecturers on Nutritional Psychiatry
Title: Introduction to Nutritional Psychiatry: From Evidence to Practice.
Prof Felice Jacka will outline the current evidence in the field, explore some of the underlaying mechanisms, and highlight recent research from the Food & Mood Centre. Dr Tetyana will focus on diet- and gut-related treatment approaches and share practical strategies of implementation.

Felice Jacka OAM is Deakin Distinguished Professor of Nutritional Psychiatry, founder and director of the Food & Mood Centre at Deakin University, and founder and immediate-past president of the International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research. Professor Jacka has been responsible for the development of the highly innovative and impactful field of ‘Nutritional Psychiatry’, establishing diet as a risk factor and treatment target for mental disorders. The results of the studies she has led have been highly influential, being cited in more
than 100 policy documents globally (e.g., WHO, UNICEF) and influencing clinical guidelines in psychiatry in Australia and elsewhere. She is widely recognized as international leader in the field of Nutritional Psychiatry research. She is an ISI Highly Cited Researcher (2020-2024 inclusive), putting her in the top 0.1% of publishing scientists worldwide for impact. In 2021 she was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her services to Nutritional Psychiatry.
Dr Tetyana Rocks is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Senior Research Fellow and lead of Food and Mood Academy. Tetyana’s work focusses on translating evidence into effective education and practice. Tetyana’s work is supported by the Wilson Foundation and by Roberts Family Foundation. Tetyana’s work enables implementation of the latest research in Nutritional Psychiatry into transdiagnostic clinical practice and supports globally connected education, directly addressing the current gap between evidence and practice. Tetyana is
regularly invited to speak at academic, professional, and community events in Australia and overseas. She is also developing advanced resources for training Nutritional Psychiatry Lectures SVUHand upskilling professionals and workforce.
